Olympus Mons is the naval academy where Lieutenant Louie Branciforte trained to be a pilot and was awarded his wings in 2347. After serving in the great war, working at good ol’ OlyMons is comfortable. Predictable.
Another summer session brings another new group of student pilots to the airfield. The class of 2369 is just like any other class Branciforte has taught over the years. Several aspiring pilot cadets show great promise, and some are hanging on by a thread.
Usual. Comfortable. Predictable.
Yet, something about this class begins to confuse him. New emotions he’s never experienced before creep in, interfering with his ability to do his job and maintain the status quo of his personal life.
And the number of times he’s called into the captain’s office because of this class of students is most unusual, uncomfortable, and unpredictable.
